ConocoPhillips Offers New Scholarships

Native American Students to Receive Support in Energy-Related Fields

Members of ConocoPhillips and San Juan  College standing together holding a large check for $60,000Thanks to the generosity of ConocoPhillips, San Juan College’s School of Energy now has $60,000 in scholarships available for Native American students in New Mexico. 

ConocoPhillips and San Juan College have once again joined forces to prepare current and future generations for jobs in the evolving energy industry. San Juan College will award scholarships to as many as 20 Native American students residing in the state of New Mexico.  Funds can be used to offset the cost of tuition, books and housing for those who qualify. 

Students can select from a wide variety of programs offered by the , all of which are in demand and are positioned for transitioning industry. These programs include: , , , and . 

“We are grateful that ConocoPhillips is providing Native American students across New Mexico with a means of achieving their dreams and securing lifelong high-wage careers,” says Alicia Corbell, Dean of San Juan College School of Energy. “We look forward to contributing to the achievement of New Mexico’s energy goals by providing a skilled workforce.”

 Over the course of the past 25 years, ConocoPhillips has contributed nearly $850,000 in support of San Juan College and its students.  ConocoPhillips is a global, independent exploration and production company headquartered in Houston, Texas.
