Merrion Honors Reception

Upcoming dates will be announced.

The Honors Program is the largest college honors program in the region. For the past fourteen semesters, our enrollment has averaged over 400.

This Program has a different focus than most – ours is about finding, nurturing, and graduating great students. We do not care about a student’s academic past; we are focused on their future.

We do not have admissions requirements, but have strict graduation requirements. The dividends of this philosophy are significant.

The success of that philosophy is illustrated by the fact that for the past 7 years, 70% of Honors graduates, who started their college education at San Juan College, began their education by taking at least one developmental education course – those students had an average grade point of 3.44 – and that’s without averaging their grades from this semester.

This year’s Honors graduates have the opportunity of receiving transfer scholarships to Ft. Lewis College, the University of New Mexico, New Mexico Highlands University, Cottey College, Western New Mexico University, Wayland Baptist University and  New Mexico State University.
